Our First Post! Welcome to Psi Chi's Blog

Welcome to California State University, Bakersfield's Psi Chi blog! We hope to use this site to notify the community about our meetings, upcoming events, and volunteer opportunities.

If you are a psychology student and have not heard of or joined a local Psi Chi organization, we highly encourage you to take the time to consider applying to this prestigious honors society. Since 1929, Psi Chi has been a leading organization in the field of psychology--both in recognizing the academic achievements of its members as well as supporting further research in the field.

Not only does enrollment in an honors society help bolster your resumé, but members also enjoy a larger sense of community. New members are welcomed into the program during a formal introduction ceremony, often in the presence of their family and friends. Following that, members are encouraged to take part in the organization through different events such as research conferences, charity work, or as an officer of their local chapter.

Psi Chi can open many doors for you in your path for knowledge. If you are a student who has taken psychology courses at California State University, Bakersfield or at our satellite campus in Antelope Valley, we encourage you to apply.

If you would like more information regarding our organization, please contact the Psi Chi officers at psi.chi.csub@gmail.com or our current advisor, Jess Deegan, at jdeegan@csub.edu
